VALUE ENGINEERING

Value Engineering (VE) is a systematic and organized approach used in construction projects to maximize the overall value of a project by identifying and eliminating unnecessary costs while maintaining or improving the desired quality, performance, and functionality of the project.

It's a method for achieving the most cost-effective design and construction solutions without compromising on project objectives.

OUR METHODOLOGY

Project Scope Definition

  • Clearly define the scope of the construction project, including its size, complexity, and specific requirements

Project Information Gathering

  • Collects all relevant information about the construction project. This includes project specifications, plans, drawings, cost estimates, schedules, and any other relevant documents. .
  • Review the project's scope, goals, and constraints

Function Analysis

  • Identify and define the essential functions or purposes (project's core objectives) that the construction project must fulfill.
  • Evaluate each function in terms of its importance, cost, and feasibility to determine the ones offering the most significant opportunity for improvement

Idea Generation & Evaluation

  • Generate creative ideas and alternatives for achieving the project's functions more efficiently.
  • Screen and evaluate generated ideas based on criteria based on various criteria, such as cost, feasibility, impact on project objectives, and potential risks.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis, including cost-benefit analysis and risk assessment on the selected ideas to determine alternatives offering the best value in terms of cost savings and performance improvement.

Proposal Development and Implementation Plan

  • Develop chosen alternatives into concrete proposals. This may involve revising project plans, adjusting design specifications , exploring new materials, or adopting different construction methods.
  • Outline a plan including timeline, responsibilities, and resource allocation for implementing approved proposals.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Document all decisions, including the selected alternatives and the rationale behind them
  • Clarify the potential benefits and impacts of the proposed changes in the report

Approval and Implementation

  • Present proposals to the Client and obtain Client's approval.
  • Incorporate approved proposals, which may involve adjustments to the design, construction methods, and project management processes, into the project.
  • Monitors the implementation of the proposed changes to ensure they are carried out as intended throughout the construction phase.
